S.D. Skye's Hell or High Water 365-Day Blogathon Day 81 -- Ad Talk Tuesday -- Freebie Days

Part of my (and probably every indie author's) marketing strategy is using free promotional days to boost the profile of a book.

Now, that the rebranding is complete the promotion must begin. There are fewer better ways to give your series a boost than to give away some free copies.

Free copies won't make you famous. They will not make you a best seller. But what they may do, if you have other books in your series, is get readers to try your first book and then buy all the subsequent books.

That's what recently happened with one of my romance novels, my first one as a matter of fact. I did a free promotion and ended up giving away 9.700 copies in 5 days. So far, those sales have not only increased the monthly sales of my novel significantly and the number of pages of read per month (the highest of all of my books now), but it has also increased the sales of my subsequent books, even putting the sequel in the Top 100 of a Kindle Bestseller list.

That's what I'm hoping will happen with The Bigot List. It may not propel me onto the national scene (or it may--miracles happen), but it is already increasing sales of the other books in the series.

So, if you don't have your own copy yet, now is the time to get it.

It will probably be the only free promotion before Book 4 comes out--click the cover to get your copy!!

"[The Bigot List]" is a mystery thriller from S. D. Skye ... hard to put down for lovers of spy fiction, highly recommended. -- Carl Logan, Midwest Book Review

★★★★ "Thick with layers, [The Bigot List] is filled with strife, deceit, lust, pain, mystery, and humor." OOSA Online Book Club

When U.S. Government Human Intelligence Assets are betrayed and killed, the bigot list -- the names of personnel granted special access to highly sensitive sources -- becomes the prime suspect list. And no one knows this better than lie-detecting FBI Special Agent J.J. McCall. She’s lost two of her most critical sources and will lose another if she doesn’t catch him.

Codename: ICE Phantom.

The long-rumored mole is more insidious than Hanssen and Ames combined. After a decade of fruitless investigations, the Intelligence Community fears its chasing ghosts—but J.J. and her co-case agent Tony suspect the ghost is real. And his body count is going up.

Days away from landing at the top of the suspect list, J.J. and Tony are drawn into an unsanctioned mole hunt; they have a week to catch the Ice Phantom, save a key source’s life – and their own.
