S.D. Skye's Hell or High Water Blogathon Day 211 -- Author Elizabeth Noble

Fiction Friday

I'm back...again. Sorry for the absence but I've been struggling with some personal and health issues over the past few months, most recently awful migraines that have stopped me from being as productive. Hopefully, I'm on the mend and can get back to my regular blogging schedule. But my health comes first!

With that said, I'm very happy to continue this series. And will start posting a little more frequently in the next week or two.

Thanks for your patience.

Please welcome today's author ...

Elizabeth Noble

Tell us about your writing journey.

I don’t remember a time I didn’t want to write and that was even before I knew how to write! Throughout school I was always praised for my writing ability. As an adult when I wrote for a hobby anyone I showed my work to said they liked it, but we all know your friends aren’t the best gages for that. Real confirmation came with my first professional contract."

What sparked the idea for this series?

I wanted to do a mystery/suspense series that could feature different branches of law enforcement. In each book we meet a minor character that becomes a main character in the following book.

Tell us about your latest release.

Gone Away is the story of two men, Mason and Riece, with a broken relationship. They are given a second chance and work hard to repair what they once had.

Of course all this happens in the midst of there is the suspense/thriller part of the story. It takes place in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Mason and Riece find themselves facing some very nasty adversaries and must really rely on each other to survive."

Give us one or two of your favorite lines from this book.

Arquette would always be the one who got away.

Tell us about your writing space and your daily routine.

I have an office I created out of a spare room in my home. That's where I have my desk, shelves of books, dvds and fangirly type things. There is also a very comfortable arm chair.

What’s one of your favorite reviews/comments you’ve ever received about your writing (on this book or any other)? Who did it come from and how did it impact you?

"Every review has something I cherish and they all impact me as a writer, but in a good way. With Gone Away I think my favorite comment, and it's one repeated in most the reviews, was that the reviewer never saw a plot twist coming. That's awesome for a thriller writer.

All the reviews for Gone Away may be found here: http://elizabeth-noble-circles.weebly.com/gone-away.html"

What’s your biggest struggle as a writer (or what was your worst critique)? And how do/did you handle it?

"I think the biggest struggle is how people will equate a genre with one possible aspect and not realize all genres have many layers.

It's frustrating but the most important thing is to be approachable as a writer and be willing to talk about what I write.

What is the high point of your career, so far?

One of my books, Jewel Cave, was recently placed as a runner up in the Mystery Category of the Rainbow Awards.

What was the low point of your career? And how did you handle it?

The rejections I received when I first began looking for a publisher. My solution was to keep trying no matter what.

Give us the name of a recent book you’ve read that you would highly recommend to readers.

Wool by Hugh Howey.

What’s next on your writing journey?

I have a new series coming in July 2016. It's a scifi/urban fantasy series that is based around an independent intelligence organization called The Vampire Guard (that is also the series title).
Thank you for including me on your blog!
